A Vunderful Winter
We’ve had a crazy schedule lately! Thankfully, taking pictures was only a very small part of that “schedule,” so I can easily get caught up on January and almost be on track after this post!
-New Year’s Bonfire-
When we do a bonfire, we do a BONFIRE.
Our New Year’s party became a New Year’s Even party because of coming rain. Even though our group was a bit smaller, it worked out great!! I had been at Camp Good News helping with a teen retreat, so I got back just in time for our party.
The traditional tree maze. We had a total of about 60 trees.
Dad put them on one at a time and usually burned two or three at once.
It’s amazing (and alarming) how fast these trees burn.
Group photo!

-New Jersey-
We three girls went to New Jersey the day after New Year’s to visit family before we had to return to school/work. It was Jen and Bethany’s first time on a plane in 20 years….so it was basically their first time. I think it ended up being a good thing that all three of us sat separately on the way there.
So crowded!!! But really, once you get out of the city parts of New Jersey and New York, they are GORGEOUS states. They have “country,” rolling hills, mountains, etc.

Skyping the family back home
Uncle Steve and Aunt Helen came for a visit one evening. It was great to see them!
We really enjoyed our couple days with Grandma and Pop-pop. We had a blast together!
Love you, Pop-pop!
On one of the days we were there, we went to vist Uncle Eddie. We got a lovely view of the city from the highway and then had a delicous lunch at a great restaurant.
On our last full day in Jersey, Uncle Mark picked us up from Grandma and Pop-pop’s and took us to Hoboken to get the best view of the city from across the Hudson River. He wasn’t kidding. The view was AWESOME.
Love this firehouse. We passed Cake Boss’ bake shop. The train station was really cool, too.
Some guys playing a pickup game of football and the train station.
We also got as close as we could to the Statue of Liberty from the Jersey line. Uncle Mark was a great tour guide.
With Aunt Margaret and Aunt Maria.
We had a great trip and can’t wait to see everyone again!

-Nana Pat-
A couple weeks ago, some of us went to visit Nana Pat. She wasn’t feeling too well, but I’m happy to say that when we saw her today in her new home, she was full of life. Can’t wait to post the pictures from today! She was rosy-cheeked and all-smiles and looked years younger.

-Field trip-
Mom took the girls and a couple friends to the Schiele Museum (a museum of natural history) for a fun field trip. It was a rainy day, but they still had a great time together.

-Jammin’ Time-
We went to the Carter’s two weeks ago and had a “jam session” for Mrs. Carter’s birthday. We had a super-fun time playing and singing a variety of music, including Fiddler on the Roof, old hymns, Getty songs, and Disney songs.
Then we celebrated with cake and singing Happy Birthday in opera voices. haha!

-Friends-
The McGarty girls have birthdays around the same time we do. We decided to celebrate by treating our own selves
to a bagel place one morning to celebrate all the birthdays. So much fun!
